Here’s What to Do When Your Furnace Won’t Ignite
We are getting through the last of the weeks of winter but we still need our furnaces, especially during frigid nights. There’s not a lot that is worse than turning in at night just to find out your furnace won’t start up. If you find yourself in this situation, here are a few things you can check yourself before your call Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning.
Check Air Filters
You should replace standard air filters every 30 days. If you do not, they can get clogged, blocking air flow and resulting in your furnace malfunctioning.
Check Your Thermostat
Try turning the temperature up a few degrees to get the furnace to kick on. If the current room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the furnace won’t kick on. Also, verify the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem ridiculous, but make sure the power switch next to the heating system is “On.” Even gas furnaces use electricity so make sure the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch has not been accidently moved to the “Off” position.
If you inspect all these things and your furnace will still not start up, give Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning a call at 587-404-0790 and we’ll come out and get you heating again as soon as possible.
